“Garlic has been used widely for thousands of years as a functional food and a spice as well as a traditional medicine against a number of diseases including infections. Allicin and its derivatives, ajoene, allitridin and garlicin, were found to be the most promising OSCs of garlic and are responsible for several of garlic’s therapeutic activities including the prevention of viral infections”.
